Friends of stratego, players from around the world in a beautiful Site(STRATEGO.COM).
All want to know playing stratego very well.
This is not very easy to do. A good player should make good setup and to use it correctly in game.
Let's give our all by at least one GOOD SETUP to help us to become better players.

setup must be adjusted according to the opponent.
so I gave a random SETUP which is considered good enough (say).

In the USA we have a singer name Kenny Rogers and years ago he sang the song "The Gambler" .  The song was about playing poker during the old west times, but he sings a key line.  "Because every hands a loser and every hands a winner."  It's talking about how not to just play your cards, but play your opponents at the table.  You can win a hand with three A's one hand, then lose with that same hand the next one when someone MAY have a straight or doesn't have one.

Another thing I want everyone to consider; I once read a book about chess written in the 1950s by Grandmaster Fred Riefield and he said "No matter how good of a plan you may have to win a game, you must remember your opponent has a plan too!"  Just because you feel you have a huge attack that might win against many players in Stratego, remember your opponent might have the ultimate plan to stop you or has a counter attack you can't defend against!

So showing what you feel is a great setup won't mean you can still win with it.   It's all about how you move your units, bluffing, and creating the right plan of attack at the right time.  I have a handful I setups I use as a model but, I change my units around.  I've had setups that beaten a few top silver players, but then I lost to a Bronze Colonel rated player the next game with it.  You just never know what to expect with this game, and that is the beauty of it all.

Dekaeneas-Spy:This is exactly and I know it very well, but there are players who are at low levels and not only them who would like to get some setup as ideas.

Ι believe would help.

Thank You

It all depends.

There are a thousand ways to Rome so it depends against who you're playing.

Hide and seek, a mix, agressive, ultra agressive (lotto), they can all work,...:)

I agree.

But, I say again that's about all of us USEFUL. e.g. Show us trickz what SETUP would have a very aggressive player.
