Check your strategy skills by voting for the right answer!

Red side has 2 bombs surrounding his flag and two miners who are at least 6 spaces apart.

Blue side has as many bombs as you like plus a flag. And a Marshall who is at least 6 spaces apart from the two miners.

-

Blue has definitely the strongest piece but will never be able to capture the two miners. Thus, it should be a draw? Or will Red always be able to win this game?

The two miners will obviously win. even if it are a marshal and a general playing against two miners then the two miners can at least get a draw.

Spoiler!

You're spoiling the right answer! I'd hoped people would vote instead. ;-)

There is zero chance for a Marshall to win vs two miners.  The two square move would come into play and the Marshall would give way to one of the miners getting to the flag that is around the bombs in the corner.

Actually, even without the two-move rule, the Marshall would still lose. The miners will walk right through the bombs so let's remove them and put the flag in the corner. The Marshall now has to guard two attack routes for the miners. (Horizontal and vertical.) Thus he needs to be able to block either route, being at least 1 step away from either line. The miners will just walk straight at the flag, one on the same row, the other on the same column, keeping the same distance to the flag. Thus, at one moment both miners will just have to take two steps to capture the flag. If the Marshall is between one of them and the flag, the other can just walk at the flag. If not, one just sacrifices himself so the other can capture with two steps. That's because the Marshall would need two steps too to prevent this.

I don't understand this entire topic,.....what is there to vote for?

Everybody knows the two miners will win easily so why even vote on this?

Blows my mind :)

zero chance? I do not agree with that. It depends who player has the marshall. If it is justinstoryteller or god of cheat?

Who believes that the 2 miners win in these cases? :D

no chance for marshal

if the opponent had 1 miner he would have few chances for draw. It depends on 1) how the bombs are distributed on the board and 2) the place of the pieces (marshal must block miners passing) 3) who has the turn to play

if the marshall is closer to the flag, he can still win. So the only correct answer is: it depends...

Only if he's closer to the opponent's flag. But if both sides still have 6 bombs, the Marshall has a 1-in-7 chance of picking the right piece. (Or not a chance if the flag is surrounded by bombs.

The miners would have no problem with those bombs...

I think he is playing SWG. (Supreme World Game.) There are more than 3 marshalls pieces about it and no by SWG the spy can't attack a marshall but Emperor-Pauw. That game is very big and that's way I lose all main games here. I don't the highest rank about Stratego. I is treu when I lose all main game I abonned from here? I hope not.  :(  Stratego is not main power game I am sorry. Amswerd about the miners, they win. No voce need it.
