Hi

You said "These players must have already played in an official tournament on Stratego.com and have an International Stratego Ranking."

Can you please explain it.

Since I haven't attended any tournament please can you say where to start.

What is International Stratego Ranking and how to have it?

Thanks

For more informations  about tournaments please visit:

http://forum.strateg...ament-schedule/  and

http://forum.strateg...ent/#entry56292

Additionally in September 2016 will be organised the 2nd World Online Championship

All these tournaments count in International Stratego Ranking (plus some tournaments from local federations - NASF/GOSC)

Since this is first National team competition, is it possible to make some exceptions.

Maybe to allow players without International Stratego Ranking, since we don't have time to make some?

Thanks

As posted in another topic, still waiting on an answer:

I don't like the way it is being set up. It should be open to all players, not limited to 4 or 5 per country. It should be open to as many teams possible. That "national" team aspect is also something I am really not fond of. It would be much nicer if all kind of teams can enter. If that means an entire Greek team, or even better THREE entire Greek teams (there are enough Greek players), several Dutch teams, etc but also the possibility of other teams (for example a Mod team, A Clinton team, a Trump team, a Spartan Warriors team, a junior team, a female team or whatever team people would like to make.

That way ALL players can join the fun instead of just a VERY selective group. It will be much much better, because let's be honest it is really not important (or a feat) which "country" is "the strongest".

Hi Maestro

Thanks for your question which gives me the opportunity to explain  to our community why I took the initiative  to organise such kind of tournament.

First of all to answer your question TC has in their calendar (10-30/10) such kind of team event you describe with various type of teams (Mod team, A Clinton team, a Trump team,etc). http://forum.strateg...ule/#entry57633.

Also if i remember well in past you organised succesfully such team event with 4 teams (4 players each team).

This tournament is something different , it is a national team competition.

The fact that you are not fond of this '' national''  team aspect doesn't mean that other people are not fond of.

About why is not allowing more than one team from the same country / federation the answer is for  2 reasons

First if we allow this , we  will have as result to destroy our time scheduling (tournament with 4 teams as it is now needs 3 weeks , with 8 teams will need 7 weeks)  and during summer period it is very possible to cause a disaster.

Secondly is for reasons of credibility. The second (or third team) is very likely to be accused that gives free game / points to the first team when in the same tournament cut points from other teams.

About my initiative.....

One of the main purposes of this event is to motivate people in future to be organised same way as NASF or GOSC and having their national team in such events. Already some people have realised the benefits of such organisation and are starting thinking seriously to do the same with their country. If they haven't yet enough players from their country they can organised like NASF in a certain region (e.g. central europe or Mediterranean) and when they find enough members to be seperated in countries . I strongly believe that other countries / regions will follow in close future.
What are some of  the benefits ?
1. More players in the official big tournaments (TC , WCO ) and most important with no alliases because each federation will try to guarantee the originality of their members.
See for example that in the current spring tournament the 40% of participations (25/64)  belong to greek players with many new entries as a result of our organisation. Also NASF has provided15 players in the tournament.
2. National championships like the Greek championship which is running this period with 38 !!!! players, or take the example of NASF events.
3. Teaching stratego in people who speak the same language and live in the same time zone.
4. More active forum members and of course this means more easily find in future volunteers to help as MT or TC or whatever.

All the above is called with few words development of the game .

p.s Please spend some time to read some of my posts  2-3 years ago when I started working in this idea.
