The purpose of this channel is to help Stratego players all over the world increase their skill and potential but also give Stratego fans of all levels of skill a weekly event to look forward to. No matter if you are an expert to yell at my poorly executed moves or younger skilled to marvel over others it should be entertaining for most. Almost any other sport has regular teams or players that give their fans something to look forward to weekly via spectating but not Stratego...until now! Our main priority is to prevent other players style of play or setup from being exploited. It has been noticed that their are identity protection issues in the first three videos. We have used the flaws in the first three videos to fine tune the videos to come with full identity protection. To the irritation of some I have decided to use the same setup until I get past such an unpredictable skill set. I have found this to be one of the strongest setups against a quick, careless and unprecedented lotto blitzer.

I accept criticism with open arms. Anything that you would like to see different or better, please let me know.

Thank you for watching,

MP

This game seems to be sped up but it is because a glitch happens occasionally. It is not intentional. Could I have feedback on whether regular speed is better or the sped up speed that you see in this video is better?

Would you guys like to see a double feature sometime or is it better with just one per week?

It's great seeing the full progression like this, without without skipping games. I'm sure you'll run into some spectacular spots that everyone wishes they had recorded ha.

As long as you black out the names I don't see a problem with what you're doing unless if someone specifically expresses their wish for you not to record.

By double feature do you mean one video slow and one sped up? I think you should just have one version if that's what you mean. But I would speed it up at least a little bit, maybe 1.5 depending on how fast or slow you're playing. Also if you happen to be playing someone like me I might be able to record on my end, and then you could publish both sides, maybe we could even do a Skype match!

By double feature I was talking about two games instead of one for the weekly upload.  I know that some have been looking forward to seeing silver opponents so I have two back to back for you next week.

I cannot control who my opponent will be when I push ranked but I am hoping this will be the last bronze game and will begin moving into the silver category.

Enjoy!

These two games are a good example of what not to do. I moved to much with out need and did not prioritize secured positioning. Positioning is in fact one of the most important functions in winning/recovering. For those of you trying to learn to be better Stratego players, don't try this at home.

The first game I believe would have been a loss if my opponent had confidence to play better with info as he was up significantly more than I was materially. I prefer the position of my opponent at the end until his final move.

Game #14 https://youtu.be/5iygM7tdnMg

The second game has been left uncensored do to my opponent rudely disconnecting. It will be to some peoples concern that the player who accidentally disconnects will be punished wrongly and I tell you, this will not be the case. There is a clear difference between a player with internet problems or a random disconnect during the game and a player who disconnects immediately after losing a key piece in him winning.

Enjoy

Hi MP,

Good snack :-)

Extended spy .... I ment you nicely moved your spy away in game 14. Making your Major vulnerable but getting the Marshall swiftly.

Why did you not trade generals in the early phase of the game, when it was obvious he was planning to blitz with it? You opted not to trade and let him take a captain and major.  Since you're a very defensive player maybe a good idea would be to get your colonel out to hold the left side further.

Beginner players don't care if you're bluffing, they will just lotto or blitz you.

Does anyone have feedback to what they were thinking 3 minutes and 40 seconds into the game? I am down by much materially. Is this a good thing or bad thing?

This was the first video I enjoyed re watching multiple times. I hope you enjoy it the same.

Sevenseas, yes you are correct in what you say about game #17. I also did think about the same thing but allowing him to trade gen would not give me an edge whatsoever over his careless attack. It did not seem to work out very well for me in the end anyway so in hind sight your suggestion would have been the better one. I did assume he would stop guessing and be content with an advantage but this player did not use intelligent caution in this way. My decision of giving the opponent a gen/kol split to trade gen was where my true mistake was at 1:30. That move alone made all of those other sacrifices meaningless. Adapting to any situation is the more important lesson to coming back from a devastating situation.

Thanks for sharing MP!

Your attacks are clumsy here. I think it was perhaps a mistake to move the major forward at about 3:21 as it is obvious it was guarded by a good piece. Then you also choose to sacrifice a second major on a captain, why? If it isn't backed you are forced to lotto.

You are correct you need to invest material to make an attack. Everyone has their own way of doing this. But you can not invest too much or you will have trouble getting it back.

Fortunately though, your opponent also made some stupid mistakes whilst way ahead in the game (with the general and marshal) but such is the impatience of a beginner player.

Sorry for the delayed posts, I have been on holiday but now I am back. Here is the link to game number 19

https://youtu.be/NWCwt58sKB8

Sevenseas, you are correct that I made clumsy moves, actually many of the moves that I make are clumsy. I do not know if it is because I am just a bad player or if I slouch off a bit with low level players because recovery is much easier at this level of play. I will say though, I have not yet invested "too much material" that patience on my end could not recover with. Adaptation wins games more than a bad situation loses them. I really enjoyed watching your live stream yesterday. I hope you have more to come in the future.

Until next week,

MP

Thank you for sharing these games. You play very well.

Will you be posting unranked games on your channel (a game one plays versus a friend), or just ranked games? I am sure many would like to play you, Mystery Player.

MTinsley, thank you for the compliment. You may not believe your own comments though after you watch my twentieth game. I immediately after putting my colonel in jeopardy wondered what I was thinking. You would never catch a top player make a move like this. It happens early on in the game and cannot be missed so you can see for yourself my lack of skill here.

I am undecided about playing unranked games versus a friend. I would not want it to take away from my journey to platinum and lose focus on my mission. I think the weekly games are nice to be ranked. I would like to here others feedback but it appears not many people care about this page much.

Thank you to all who have shown support. It means a lot.

Nice choreography IMO. Not sure how you do it and I don't care. Blacking out the names of your opponents? A 20-0 record? Everything appears staged. Nope not buying it. Can't waste my time on it. You must have a motive so good luck with that. Add sevenseas as a friend and show me what you can do against a real player.
