It is said that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. I, like a lot of other players have had  large helpings of abuse every now and then, but my faith in human kindness is restored when I meet a really nice player.

The other day I was playing and losing badly, making all kinds of school boy errors. To be honest, my dog could have played better than me on that day. But as I was saying gg etc, this player offered me a draw when it was obvious to both of us that I had lost. He then said 'As always'. He wasn't worried about the win or points, but just wanted a nice game. He is so polite, and an ambassador and credit to his country and the game. It is refreshing to meet a player with manners who just wants to have a good game. I know what he means - some of my best games are where I have lost and just marvelled at the skill of the player that beat me.

I just think it's worth mentioning nice stories as they don't always get told.

Maybe there should be a hall of fame (or list) where you nominate a nice player. It would offset the list of ne'er-do-wells.

It is very nice from you to start this topic, in fact we often talk about bad players... maybe even too much but good, friendly, honest players are really rarely mentioned, I hope to see a looooong list of players here.

For my part I would add Rgillis783, in fact when I was a new player here he immediately came to me and very kindly. I remember one of our first game where he got my gen with his marsh after something like 5 mins and I asked for the draw desesperately and he accepted although he had a very cool advantage. I ll never forget this from him ;)

There are many nice players on here. :)
Mostly the players who give tips after games are the real heroes for me.
MajorNelson
UnladenSwallow
Overlord
Maxroelofs
Losermaker
Astros
Texaspete09
Enigma
The Optician is someone who also deserves alot of graditiude from all tournament players.

Cheers for the good guys ! Napo 2 you and ya dad put up with a lot of my grief --ty both. Fks your on the list too. Streamer, tactical adviser and a NASF player. KMC I would not leave you off this list ! Humor is surly lacking in some players. Gary, Tobor etc... Maybe we do need list . Nortrom is always willing to give a shout out at times . Queen Bee and their many accts have always been kind-- have not seen the name/accts as of late though.

Shout outs to Airmail. At least he gives up when he loses, and doesn't drag the game out unnecessarily. A class act.

I nominate Likewater who gave me the game even though he had won, and Celtic Rule. Both decent guys. Thanks for being nice opponents. Its a pleasure to play you both. Now a double Martini before my next mission I think....

I had a similar experience with rgillis783. We got paired up fairly recently once, then I realized I didn't have enough time to play so he just gave me a win...or it might have been a draw, can't remember, but either way he was a decent fellow.

I've had the pleasure of playing both rgillis783 and celtic rule.  Both are gentlemen.  Couldn't ask for better opponents!

+1 for Losermaker.

He thoroughly trounced me in a game but then offered to play a second game in which he offered tips on how to attack as he moved in.  There are so many others who are good sports.  Makes me wonder if there could be some sort of ratings system for sportsmanship.
