Hi MTinsley,

Are you able to play Friday 17:00 GMT - 19:00 GMT? Otherwise, Thursday or today 17:00 GMT - 19:00 GMT will work out as well.

Regards,
MM

Hi MasterMind I will be replacing MTinsley for this game. Sorry for the late response, I can play at 19:00 GMT today if you are still able.

If you cannot make a time before the default MM, Luckypapa should probably step in.

After a tough match and one of my faithful lieutenants finding a sneaky marshal, Wogomite defeats don homer!

I recorded it if you would like, I could let Fks upload it to our nasf page. I think the audience would admit you played well. You fought hard until the very end and up until the final moves, you were able to have recovered if you did the right thing as not all of your high material was revealed to me. It was not what I call a "relaxing game" :)

If you give me permission, I may start working on that.

Max, I am 4 hours behind GMT so that is 6am for me and too early. Can you pick a later time please? Preferably sometime in the late morning or afternoon or evening is fine too?

Personally I think a team should only be able to trade players before the draw is made, but ok.

@constrictor
That's way too early. Lets play later. Hoe about 1700 GMT.

Then what would be the point in an alternate? The draw for the entire tournament is made before the start of the tournament. What are your thoughts on alternates then?

Well, at least it cannot be in my opinion that an alternate should play and due to short notice force us into playing our alternate also. Although I also think your alternate is late in the announcing, we should be able to let MM play him. If it be Monday, then so be it.

So this is nonsense. Due to announcing your alternate late, we should let Lucky step in...

No you shouldn't. We discussed this and because Nasf took to long in arranging our match, the Dutch should in no way be penalized for it.

You're right there, but in theory the rule could be abused if people put their strongest player in the ''reserve'' spot. Let's just hope the stratego community is fair enough. :)

It is the WTT you aren't supposed to get an easy match at any board. People at 4th board will still have to play 1k rated players like Unladen Swallow. If a team where to keep there strongest player at there reserve spot it makes no difference as if u want to go against the weakest opponent on the other team, you are essentially wasting your top player and if you want to go against the top player then that is how it is supposed to be either way. It goes on and on no matter where u place your top player.

Max, your idea is strategic and something to consider for future years. Thanks for that ;)

Fks is spot on. It's not cheating if everyone has the same opporitunity. Knowing how to use every element to your advantage is part of competition.
