If a member of the MT can move this poll to NASF sub forums please, that would be great :)

People who voted ">1000miles" and are willing to stay overnight, might be interested to join the WC Stratego end of august in The Netherlands :). It will be great!

to whom it may concern...

I requested this poll be put back in the general discussion section of the forum as I feel more members are likely to see it here and respond.

MTinsley, Though he felt the poll was better suited in NASF Tournament section, did as I requested and moved it back here.

There is only a Dutch link at the moment with the info Morx gave. I can add to his information that Thursday is the World cup Barrage (8 pieces game playalble on gravon). Friday and Saturday is the world cup Classic (like we are playing here) and Sunday is a seperate tournament classic and the best players from each country play the country cup at the same time. If there are at least 3 American players (but 4 is better) you can play on Sunday against the best teams of each participating country :). Saturday the junior players (14 years and yournger) probably play seperately their own junior world cup classic.

We expect to publish more details very soon.

Can you tell who you are referring to with ''we'', Morx?

Bulldog,

We currently live overseas but replied assuming the reply would be the day we are back living in the states.

I would be willing to DRIVE about 4 hours to play in a tournament.  I would be very doubtful to fly.  Both due to costs/time and the general miserable environment involved with flying.

I would be willing to stay overnight for one night if I could get a $79-$99 4 star hotel (think Hampton Inn or Fairfield Inn type - its been a while since I travelled on business in US so perhaps that's unrealistic), AND could come up with something for the family to do that evening.

Finally, given that the NASF seems to be currently comprised of folks that think 800 ELO is some magical power, even if I were in the states its doubtful that I'd participate.  So you might want to remove my reply when considering the responses.

Regards,

Scott

Hi Scott the Nasf has the one requirement on this one tournament once a year. Other countries it seems don't give u the chance to play for 5 spots and they just pick the top 5 rated or whatever suits them. The committee lowered this requirement from the 950 it was last year. There are discussions about 3 tournaments the Nasf will be hosting in the near future online with the only requirement is being an Nasf member :)

If the committee would host a live event, We would love to have you join and compete :)

I would love to attend as well, but realistically, it probably won't happen anytime soon. We can hope though :)

Hey, guys, I moved this poll to this location under the NASF. And I also took the liberty of adding many more cities to the third question of the poll. So if you've already voted and said 'Other' there, you might want to delete your vote and re-cast it saying your preferred city, unless I still don't have it. Picking a city that's reasonable for you would be better than choosing 'Other' to my way of thinking, as the exact location can be determined later.

Update Note: I see this was done per request by Fks by MTinsley and then sent back by request from Sgt.Blkdog. What I have done now is to post a link to it in the GD area so it is effectively in both places now.

if the dates could coincide with one of my business trip to USA then I would try to join. Would be good if each voter could propose his top 3 cities instead of just one
