It appears that some new and old players are unaware of the Draw Refusal rules. In-particular the section about progressing the game if you decline request. Would the MT or Mister Tim Rules please re-post  this in this thread. I have been accused by several players of making this up. I ask you in-particular MTR because you seem to grasp them well---not throwing shade your way. I would prefer MT.

If someone doesn't know the draw rules, they are always at the link at the bottom of any of my posts.

If this is so, i request my account gets deleted.

T_O, yours may be the first case under the new trial the MT does of enforcing the double chasing rule just announced today.

My opponent double chased and i was forced to give up.I took several sceenshoots to prove that he cheated me. I have a case against ''Don't Worry''. He had 870 elo so it's impossible he doesn't know the rules.

These are the 10 images that prove what i am claiming. The first image is in the bottom and the last is in the top. He was doublechasing for 10 minutes when i was forced to give up because he was not in the mood of stopping the violation of the rule.

A case will be opened by the MT.

I think that in T_O's case what his opponent is doing should be allowed. He is defending his flag, and if he does not double chase, then he will lose. As neither player can progress the game, it is a draw.

In a situation where a player double chases in midgame and flag defending is not involved, this should be punished.

Wait, why? So 3 majors blocking lanes is not allowed, but 3 miners is?

.

Let's not make this so complicated. It's really simple. Double chasing is blocked whenever it occurs under the ISF rules, no exceptions. At Gravon, where double chasing is in the programming at this time, there is no "flag defense exception". If aligning with the ISF is the goal, then that means we do not differentiate between this or that example of double chasing.

Fairway, for the current Thucydides_Olorou game you say "as neither person can advance the game, it is a draw", and so in that game the double/multiple (triple) chaser shouldn't be in violation of any rule. But this thinking applies to a double/multiple chase mid-game as well. The person being double chased there cannot advance the game either, and is being blocked by the double chaser from doing so in both cases. In one case it may mean a clear loss for the double chaser to quit double/multiple chasing. In the other it may mean allowing the double chasee in to raid, pillage, and plunder a weak side. In either situation the double chaser is wanting to prevent something bad from happening to him and is double chasing to do so.

Continuing on this, take the example used earlier of a single chase. If you have one movable piece and an unblocked flag and your opponent has the Two Squares Rule advantage on you with his only movable piece, you will lose trying to block him, and that's a single chasing rule giving your opponent the win. Would anyone scream "flag defense exception" there? Hardly.

The thing that makes single chasing bad makes double chasing bad also. One person controls it and the other cannot do anything about it other than give up his piece. The rules and even the programming here on this site protect the single chasee. We are just trying to do the same as best we can for the double chasee's.

I'm basically confused: how would you define "flag defending" in practice? It seems to me that this is highly subjective.

It's not a matter of what each one of us may believe (although, personally, I disagree with you); it's an ISF rule that double chase is forbidden and the rule should be enforced in all cases.

Trying to get as many screenshoots as it was humanly possible and playing at the same time i accidentaly closed the window and could not get a defeat screen.

If the screenshoots i upload can't prove that Mr ''Don't Worry'' was not going to give up,i ask the MT to warn him for the double chase rule and punish him for calling me an ''idiot''.

But after 13 minutes and a lot of chatting dialogue it's preety clear he is endlessly playing the same moves, by chasing my pieces and he is absolutely not intenting to change his behaviour according to the ISF rule.

i also have to add that in the start of the game he said that his main account is called ''taaka''.

Thank you for responding Gary. What MTR did was exactly what I was looking for. It appears some players never visit forum or know different MT members. This way if they are inclined--I can direct a opponent to this thread and see MTRs post about advancing game if they refuse. As of the past six months I have bumped into many a player that have accused me of making it up let alone the possible 100 pt penalty. Having the rules linked to your name has not helped these players--shame on them !

I'm basically confused: how would you define "flag defending" in practice? It seems to me that this is highly subjective.

A perfect example is in T_O 's case. He has 3 minors which will get to the flag, inevitably, if his opponent does not double chase. This also applies forpieces that are not minors and open flags.

It's not a matter of what each one of us may believe (although, personally, I disagree with you); it's an ISF rule that double chase is forbidden and the rule should be enforced in all cases.

If ISF rule states that double chasing is not allowed in cases of directly defending the flag, then I do not wish for ISF rules to be implemented on the site. And yes, I know about the 24 to 1 poll.

You are basically requesting that we play the game in a wrong way. I am afraid the MT is trying to ensure quite the opposite: that finally all rules regarding the game of stratego (as defined by the ISF) are enforced on this site, too.

This guy is the banned player peter jonshon( i am 100/100 sure)
His tactic is really stupid
Even if he is winning( like my case ) he doesnt attack to make other people furious

The MT finds marshall dave777 guilty of 1st degree draw refusal. He will have 113 points deducted from his rating, and he will receive a warning letter. Henry domerkant will have 13 points restored to his rating. All pending administrative action.

Any update on my case against "vlxpsp"? Seemed like an open and shut case to me.
