As we proceed with this spectacular tournament, we now only have 2 teams left: Aliases Unite and Stratego Bulldozers. Congratulations for making it this far! This round will be quite special, because the teams are going to battle each other, so teammate vs teammate. Let's see how this will go!

Aren't the two teams supposed to split into duos? So, which are the four duos?
Winning isn 't everything, but wanting to win is.

· In Round 6 the two remaining teams will split into duos and play each other. (half of winning team A vs other half of winning team A, and the latter half of winning team B vs other half of winning team B ).

One option could be one game among the 2 winners ( in case of tie with one win one lose each duo). In case of tie with two draws maybe a final game among a choosen player from each duo or among the best player from each duo according the results of the previous rounds?

I have thought the easiest way to prevent the concern of tie breaks is that the winner from each duo moves on. Right now it is predetermined that general Adams and fluffy rabbit are paired as a team but what if there is no determined team yet? What if instead the "team" that moves on to the next round are simply the two players who win this round? This should also hypothetically make the two strongest players from each team going into round seven.
If this is still confusing then see it like this, let's say general Adams win vs final fantasy, general Adams will then hope for Fluffy Rabbit to win or general Adams must replay but instead I think whichever player wins between fluffy rabbit and Javier flag should move on to the next round with general Adams.

With my proposal it makes the "backstabbing" more of a true backstab because the emotions with all four players essentially splitting up entirely for one round would be a nice splash of betrayal. The two stronger players go on, not one of two predetermined duos.

I dont think they are predetermined i think it is like Ryan said the winners move on. Isnt that correct?

·         In Round 6 the two remaining teams will split into duos and play each other. (half of winning team A vs other half of winning team A, and the latter half of winning team B vs other half of winning team B ).

·         The two highest scoring "duos" from each team will progress, while the two lowest scoring "duos" from each team will be out. Here, the competition is reduced to 2 teams of 2 players each.

 

Αs I can understand from the rules the teams with the duos are predetermined. 

Wogomite's suggestion gives a solution in case of ties with score 7-7 but not in the  case of 6-6 (2 draws)

Are the duos randomly selected , with the ER rule or just by pairing the two who scored the most points together?

ER = Eliminate Roeczak (by forcing him to play Hielco)

I'm sorry for the confusion, I actually did not notice this to be so unclear. The duos are indeed created randomly and are as follows:

Duo 1 Aliases United: Final Fantasy and Javier Flag vs Duo 2 Aliases United: generaladams and fluffyrabbit

Duo 1 Stratego Bulldozers: Hielco and Major Nelson vs Duo 2 Stratego Bulldozers: Henry domerkant and roeczak

In case of a tied result (either 7-7 or 6-6), duos will swap opponents so if you first have duos AB and CD, and right now A plays C and B plays D, A will play D and B will play C in case of a tie.

Does it make since to anyone that my suggestion simplifies the majority of tie situations. In a 3-3 draw situation, you would simply replay the match like any bracketed tournament would. I know the rules are in place for this year but implementing this next year would benefit several ways; simplify potential draw situations, bring a deeper meaning to the idea of backstabbing, give us anticipation for the final duo teams until the end of the deciding round and strengthen the final matchup between duos. Is TC willing to discuss this for next years backstabbing tournamnet?

According to what Master Mind wrote in this thread a few posts ago:

The two teams swap opponents - so Hielco plays against Henry domerkant and roeczak plays against Major Nelson.
