Ever since I started recording my results my ELO has skyrocketed :D ... maybe it's because I'm more focused during every match. I suggest that more players try it.

I totally agree.  I started recording results and am concentrating a lot better when I play(still make stupid moves though).  Everybody should record their results in a spreadsheet.

Here's some of my recent results.  I'm trying again to get to ELO 600, by just playing with an open flag on top row.  It's very hard, at least for me.  Keeping stats really does motivate you to perform better.

Yup, I hate those 1 and 3 move losses. :)    I seem to go second a lot at the start of games and that doesn’t help(I only play on the desktop).  That game 14 loss really made me mad.  Before the game, my gut was telling me to put the flag on J4.  I just had a strong feeling to put the flag on J4.  But my flag preference is A4 and I didn’t switch it that game and it cost me.  Looking back, I could have gone 25-0, which is amazing since I’m not an elite player and the odds of getting scouted at least once is very, very high.  Players with ELOs in the 100-300 range tend to fire their scouts long range most of the time.

I was incredibly fortunate to only have 2 scouting losses in 35 games.  I was expecting at least 4 to 8 scouting losses.  I had to stop playing last year for some time because it seemed everybody was scouting A4 at the start of the game.  I would lose every 3rd or 4th game by the 2nd move.  One day I lost 3 games in less than 2 minutes!  And it only took that long because the 1st player I played took 30 seconds to setup his game pieces. That sucks losing over 40 ELO points that quick.

I think I'll post all of these games on youtube (like the Mystery Player series)when I have time with some limited commentary.  I’m not sure I can get to 600 ELO playing this way, but it sure is a lot of fun trying.
