Because I'm a good guy I'll reveal you my secret about how I've managed to lead the Stratego Wizard scoring. I simply wait for the very last day to fill in the answers. Total genius right? :o

Since some games will have taken places by then the answers are more likely to be right. It's not rocket science, I really cannot understand why all of you have answered the questions already.

The deadline is always before the end of the actual round for this reason. Playing with an edge of the information that became available before the deadline is an allowed mechanic of the Wizard. Smart gamblers like to have an edge.

We try to have questions that are not 100 percent answered before the deadline but that does not always work.

Most importantly though its about having fun. Its nice to see the positive response in this thread :)

Of course, I don't mean to say that if you wait until the final day you'll know all the answers... it's just that you will have some information so you have more chances of answering correctly.

Yes and Im trying to tell you thats OK. :) It is part of the design.

By waiting you could rule out sometimes 1 or 2 answers, sometimes even more.

Answers Round 3:

11 At the end of round 8: who will lead the tournament?

11 C KARAISKAKIS

12 The leaders in the Wizard are Master Mind, Major Nelson and KARAISKAKIS. One would say these guys are good at predicting, so it would be a bit unfair to let them guess their own scores, but this is exactly what we are going to do.

How many points do these 3 guys score in round 8 of the WCO added up together?

KARAISKAKIS and Master Mind got 6 points, Major Nelson 1, so total =13

12 C

13 C 3 games were played on the last day of the round.

14 Currently there are 8 Greeks in the Top 20, the most of any country.

How many Greeks will be in the Top 20 after Round 8?

1 KARAISKAKIS GR 1521 43 189.0 252.0

5 Aris1970 GR 1539 38 187.0 253.0

6 gkaros GR 1902 38 174.0 227.0

11 OverLord_98 GR 1727 35 196.0 257.0

15 Major Nelson GR 1330 33 197.0 259.5

17 pasxalistz GR 1267 33 179.0 242.0
18 gpet0 GR 1650 33 174.0 234.0

20 DR_ELL SuPREME GR 1380 33 162.5 217.5

Eight, thats eight!

14 C

15 The bonus question for 2 points: Defending champion gkaros is lurking in 12th, just 5 points behind the lead.

Who will his Round 9 opponent be?

15 Napoleon 1er

Wizard questions round 4

The deadline will be Monday 29 January 00:00:00 GMT. This gives everyone a few days to think about these questions.

16 On the 5th board Losermaker is playing versus playa1, who will win this game?

A Losermaker

B playa1

C Win this game, what? This will be a draw.

17 On the 4th board this round we have 2 very outspoken characters: Unladen Swallow vs Aris1970.

What will happen here?

A The game is played before Thursday 1 Feb , Aris1970 wins

B The game is played, before Thursday 1 Feb, it ends in a draw

C The game is played, before Thursday 1 Feb, Unladen Swallow wins

D The game is played on or after Thursday 1 Feb.

E The game is not played for as of yet unforseen reasons

18 Due to the Swiss system, more and more players should be playing an opponent close to their own level.

How many draws are to be expected in round 9?

A 0

B 1-2

C 3-4

D 4-5

E More than 5

19 You may have noticed that the Dutch love to play in the WCO (16 players).

How many Dutch victories will be recorded in R9?

A Less than 5
B 5
C 6
D 7-8
E More than 8

20 Hielco is currently lurking in 3rd place.

But who will be in 3rd after Round 9?

Not multiple choice, just name the player (for 2 points)
