Does the 2 week final mean 10 games instead of 5 ?

Will there be a different draw for the matches in the final , instead of repeating the same match ups ?

Yes, up to 10 games.  Here's an excerpt from the rules that answers your questions:

"5)  Championship Round:  The championship round will last two weeks.   In the championship round, match-ups will be chosen by the teams.  The 2nd place team will choose all the match-ups in the first week, and the first place team will decide the match-ups in the second week, with the requirement that there be no matches between the same players who competed in the first week.

When one team reaches 11 points or more, they are the winners.  If the championship match ends 10 to 10, then the team that was in first place after the round-robin is the winner. "

What about a reserve player? Should the team say in advance (before the draw) when they want to let the reserve play? Reserve = substitute :P

The Organizing Committee has been discussing this question.  We'll have an answer soon.   :)

Will the 2 rounds of the final have completely different games , or could they still repeat .

And must they be different from the 1st round matches also ?

The only requirement is that matches in the second week of the Championship Round not repeat matches from the first week.  It is fine if a championship matches is a repeat of the round-robin match, if that's what is chosen.

Teams do not need to say in advance of the draw whether their reserves will play.  We want reserves to be available in case of unexpected absences.  So, the second place team should choose the draw for the first week based on the regular line-ups.   Then if either team substitutes a reserve during championship round it will be allowed.

The Prof,

You mention that the Dutch team are only 1 win away from taking the title. How can this be so when either team needs 6 wins / 10 to get a majority?

I used to play against a few drunken idiots in College and University. I just recently discovered this game online, playing my first matches against real-world opponents. After 100 games, I'm now one of the top 10 players in the world.

Because we finished first before the championship round, that means 5 out of 10 is enough... It is somewhere in the rules.

Dutch need 1 win or 2 draws from remaining 4 games

Great Belgium require 3 wins and 1 draw .

Here it is.
