Hi queenbee,

Thanks for the invite and the nice initiative, not yet sure if I will participate. This will be a question of time. My main goal in Stratego is playing fun games and my main goal playing online is practising for the real live tourneys like the Dutch championship and World Championship. I've been world champion two times so far, Stratego will unfortunately never be the sport to earn your money with :-).

Just two remarks about the tourney setup:

- if you like to allign your tourney with the ISF rules, please stick to the 6 for win, 3 for draw and 1 for loss point system. This has been adjusted in the past to reward attacking play a little bit more (better win + lose than play two draws)

- it's risky to give a player 2 point even when he / she does not show up, we should punish late / no show players with 0 points

- I'm curious how you will manage to play a round robin (all against all) with 32 players, 16 per group

Greets,

Playa1

Greets,

Thank you for the feedback and we think it best to cut it into two groups as well. The points will be adjusted as you said to meet ISF rules of 6,3 and 1.

I will put you on the tentative list. I adjusted the points as you suggested.

Do I click my heels three times and I am a tournament manager?

No, 3 times and you are NASF management. Do make sure you click 4 times because the process is irreversable.

I want to play.

Question:

To play with ISF rules means the same as board tournaments i.e. with

- setup time i.e. 5 minutes

- altogether main time i.e. 50 minutes (no decision up to this time is a draw)

- personally time (bronstein mode) i.e. 4 / 12 (4 second for every move - personally time 12 minutes)

or we will play the open endless mode of STRATEGO.COM ?

I am in although I will wait on the definitive tourney rules. I cannot/am not willing to play for 30 weeks in a row. So I asked Queenbee to put me on a tentative list.

By the way: I do not play for money so if I win something and Queenbee wants to get rid of her money so desperately  :) , donate it in my name to a good cause: the WNF. Thanks

We will play endless, but draw refusals are still in effect.

I will gladly give any winning excluding a trophy to the charity of your choice. I can even take you out of the drawing if you choose. The goal is a maximum of ten weeks and I hope to bring that down to 8.

Too late. I think the heels clicked together three times already as I heard she joined The Prof at the NASF. This tournament definitely expands on the NASF vista, though. Got some good turnout, queenbee1. Even Hielco, wow. Not bad for a first tournament! Nice job. The pressure's on to run a good tournament now. :)

I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck!
