I request that an audible warning occur when buffer time gets below below 1 minute, and another time if it gets below 10 seconds.  Also, during the remainder of game in which a player's buffer is under a minute it would be good to get a beep on each turn that the turn timer gets down to 3 seconds.  I think this would really help reduce the number of losses due to buffer time run out.

This is, of course, a natural desire. One thing I can say is that Mick and crew consider the buffer of such little importance that, when asked, they have declined to even place the buffer on the screen in the new app! So, I do not think there'll be much interest in making the buffer even MORE NOTICEABLE than it is at present in the web version. This is not to say, The Prof, that I don't think your idea is excellent. I fully agree with it.

Lets just change the buffer from 5 minutes to 1 minute!!!!  Then everyone is always "on the clock" and might quit wasting time!!!!

Scott, that'd be great.  But you'd want to balance the move timer from 15 seconds to 30 seconds in response to the lower buffer, right? :D

I think it should be 5 seconds per move and 15 minute buffer

Scott's a nice guy, and a great fan of the game, and he knows I mean no personal denigration. We both agree on the scout attacking at a distance rule being bad. But his Spartan warrior style game is quite the opposite of my slow, purposeful one. Scott's been the champion of the quicker game here with (as he would say it) "less time wasting" for a very long time, and is a proponent of shorter move times, shorter buffer times, and shorter setup times. So certainly if there were a parade for a quicker game, he'd be the Grand Marshal! 😊

This would be closer to the ISF clock. The trouble online that it would bring is that when people leave the game, you're giving them 15 minutes to punish their opponent with, instead of the current 5.

No, then I'd be willing to only move the move clock to 10 seconds instead of 5!!!!!!
