Question about scheduling, when must the first round be completed? Does midnight on Monday mean by midnight on January 11th?

All matches must be done by midnight EST which would be 12AM Monday.

This is my first tournament, can you tell me how to find my opponent in the game room?

It is the challenge room. It is one of the chat rooms. You should be able to find it

You may do so if both sides agree.  We only suggested 6pm to 12am because most players are home during evening and you can't force someone to play before 6 if they are at work

This may seem dumb, but how do I actually start a game from the challenge zone?  I need step by step instructions.

You must first add that player as a friend. You can then click their name and send them a challenge.

Your opponent must also agree to add you  as friend before you can send the challenge.

Let's please don't forget that the aim of NASF is to engender interest in our beloved game here in the states. The game is irrelevant here. One is hard pressed to even find the original version in toy stores. Sure, we want to have fun and win. But the scope ALWAYS should be furthering the game. This encompasses educating other players, serving as liaisons to players from other countries, and doing our best to promote the game.

I was reminded of this during my phone call w/ Midnightguy last evening.

In the pairing brackets i notice numbers 6 or 1 next to each players name. What do those mean?

Thanks,

Moriarty

I am a little confused myself. I was wondering the same thing. What determines points and what is the purpose in them?

6-1 indicates the winner and loser , 3-3 a draw , in the other tournaments.

I thought this was just an elimination one which would not require points totals but I haven't read the rules in detail.
