i don't think i played silverhammer, but I won one game against njphilips12, not that it changes any rankings

I believe it was a default win against SH.

Due to time restraints MTinsley has stepped down from the NASF committee.

We are grateful for all the time and effort he has put in to the NASF as a whole and he will be sorely missed.

As years pass people move on, the time has unfortunately come where both Wogomite and The Prof are stepping down from the NASF committee.

It can't be written down in words how much time and effort was devoted to the North American Stratego scene and worldwide by the both of them. Who have always kept the helm running even though at times it seemed futile. As the whole entire North America we are grateful for everything you have done. This we can't ever repay you for but will always be in debt for.

They will always be apart of history for hosting the First live Stratego tournament in the USA which couldn't have been done with out them.

If anyone wishes to join the Committee please message Fks.

Thanks to both for their committment. I'd join but I'm just too busy these days, haven't even been able to play a non-tournament game in over a month.

Hey this is Fks writing.

I have run in to a time where I am unable to be as active on the Stratego.com forum as I previously have been and will be taking a more passive role in the NASF committee.

Fairway has stepped up to be the face of the NASF and host it's online needs.

If anyone else would like to join him and be on the NASF committee message this account or Fairway.

Going forward the NASF has plans to host 3 online tournaments a year and 1 live tournament. We as well will participate in the WTT if there is one.

The online tournaments will consist of -

NASF Championships

NASF team qualifier

1 tournament open to whatever the committee or community wishes.

---

Thanks Fks.

The First Round of the tournament is set. Due to the amount of players who signed up for the event, a majority of players will receive byes, but everybody who is still in the tournament will play in the next round. But do not fear, for there are still two great events to look forward to this week.

First, two titans clash in a battle between NASF veterans Fks and astros, setting up a very interesting scenario in which one of these accomplished warriors will not make it past the first round. Who will come out on top? The winner of this matchup faces a player new to the game and forum, austinisftw_.

Our second matchup features tournament newcomer L3AF facing off against forum veteran Sgt. Blkdog in another intriguing matchup. Both players are around the same rank, so it should be a good fight to look forward too. The winner of this matchup faces a much more daunting task, as they will play josephwhite the following week.

Good luck to all participants, and let the games commence!

Now the remaining warriors are ready to battle in the Second Round of the Single Elimination NASF Tournament!

First up we have Sorrow, who defeated astros last week in a highly anticipated matchup, facing off against newcomer Austinisftw_. Is it possible for Austin to stage a tremendous upset, or will Sorrow coast to victory?

Next we have yours truly, Fairway, who has somehow begun to win ranked games recently, against the hot and cold silverhammer in a battle of the youtubers. Silverhammer came extremely close to defeating platinum player steelers in a prior NASF Tourney- can he close the deal this time around?

After that we have the battle of veterans- Sgt. Blkdog against josephwhite. Sgt. Blkdog has been known to pull off an upset every once in awhile, and his current ELO rating (500) is not reflective of his true skills- this matchup is a lot closer than it might seem to the casual observer. Meanwhile, josephwhite nearly made it to 1000 ELO a few years back, and he is certainly capable of playing on an elite level. Who will come out on top?

Finally we have the NASF's highest-rated player, Texaspete09, facing off against another NASF newcomer, SoggyTaco69. In another battle of David v. Goliath, is there any way that SoggyTaco can pull off the victory?

The Final Four participants of the NASF tourney are ready to battle for a sport in the final. The losers of this round will battle for the Third place position, while the victors will progress to the championship battle that will determine our NASF Champion!

First up we have Fks/Sorrow facing off against Fairway. While Sorrow undoubtedly holds a favorable record against his rival, in last year's NASF championships, Fairway managed an upset victory against his higher-ranked opponent. As a result, he holds a 1-0 record against Sorrow all-time in NASF tournaments. Can Fairway repeat and pull off another upset victory to progress to the final, or will Sorrow get his revenge?

Secondly we have tournament surprise Sgt. Blkdog, fresh off a massive upset against josephwhite, playing against TexasPete09, the highest-rated player in this tournament. Can Sgt. Blkdog pull off another massive upset against a 1000-ELO player, or will things go as planned and TexasPete09 get the win?

Stay tuned for the results!

The Championship Battle of the NASF Single Elimination Tournament is set!

The two highest-rated players have progressed to the final. Sorrow defeated Fairway on the second try after drawing in the first battle, while TexasPete09 downed his rival Sgt. Blkdog in a marathon 70-minute game. All eyes are set on these two evenly-matched warriors as they battle for the NASF crown.

We also have the 3rd place battle occurring between the losers of the previous round, with Fairway facing off against Sgt. Blkdog. Sgt. Blkdog leads these two players' all-time series 2-1-1, but Fairway has maintained a higher ELO rating as of late. Who will come out on top and claim the bronze medal?

Sorrow has been removed from the tournament after receiving a temporary site ban and for repeated abusive language towards the NASF committee after receiving a warning.

Texaspete09 is the winner by default.

This seems like a rush to judgment and spread of misinformation as to imply that I had broken some rule to receiving a temporary site ban. This is what happened I was doing some tests in chat and ran in to this https://youtu.be/kOorM6R3xfs.

I will also mention that I wrote this, not repeatedly but once which is what I have to assume astros is talking about as there is nothing else to be. I wrote a message to Texaspete09 in our pm thread to which we where planning our game to which Fairway responded so I wrote "Fk off Fairway I wasn't speaking to you"

I also don't know what warning astros is speaking of at all.

I doubt that a decision will be reversed but what is the point of playing in any tournament of the NASF if the tournament organizers will remove you even if you're in the championships undefeated for no reason?

Edited by Sorrow, 02 May 2019 - 10:53 PM.

Ratings/Ranking must be reset. It is absurd if I want to get a reasonable ELO match up I would have to play a 1k rated player on there alt who is rated 900 at best.

You were warned by me prior to your second game with Fairway when I told both of you to knockoff the trash talk and given a formal warning after the game when you insulted him. You reported you had a temporary ban in the match pm with Texaspete, however, you would have been removed regardless for telling Fairway to ♥♥♥♥ off.

You're welcome in future tournaments if you can control yourself.

I simply cannot stand for this declaration of innocence here, as if you did nothing wrong. You repeatedly insulted and were nasty to an NASF manager (me) stemming off of your anger and malice toward me as a result of the MT's decision to administer to you a WP. Why that anger is directly solely toward me I do not know, but I see that your defiance was all for nothing as you have accepted the WP in order to post in this thread. That is a good thing, I suppose, if you can control your language.

Your view of what has happened is poorly skewed and inaccurate. I am an NASF manager and as such, whatever you post in the NASF Championship arrangement thread is my business. This is my responsibility. To say that you posted a message "to Texaspete in our pm thread" and imply that I should have no part in it is laughable, especially when your post was an incorrect assumption as to the actions of the MT, another group to which I belong.

Your language alone contained enough grounds for you to be removed from the tournament. You should know better than to repeatedly insult and curse at a manager of a tournament you are participating in. If someone told Charlie (TheOptician) to "fk off" then I am should that person would be removed immediately (and possibly receive a TC tournament ban, who knows) without any precautions. You know better than to say that and simply because you are mad as a result of an unfavorable MT decision (an insignificant and lowly WP in fact) does not give you the right, privilege, or justification to act in the way you did.

Ooooo Fks said a bad word! Hes not invited to my birthday party! I'm telling! (of course im joking but..) Jesus this immaturity is not needed people... One of the reasons online interactions bum me out now is because people are so thinly skinned or seem to have some sort of ego trip. Why are we broadcasting punishments? Why does a curse word throw a wrench in peoples day? Im not excusing worthless behavior but honestly we aren't under draconian rule here people... Where is our sense of comradery?

I'm here to grow this community and my friendships and my good times! If anyone finds themselves feeling any type of way other than happy when working online or playing this game I beg you to take a step back and breath. Re-focus. What is our hopes for this game? How will we get better? How will you get better?

-We get better by bringing more people together to increase the player pool- thus adding the chance of a skilled opponent which we all can learn from.

-My hopes for NASF is to look at this bigger picture. We need to all support one another.

-We cant afford to be divided as Human beings, let alone this small community we call NASF!!!

-Stratego online is underplayed and stratego higher-level play is even more rare to come by... Why are we being petty ?

This is all a waste of everyones energy and time. I cant be the only one that feels this way. Lets work on building our community and building our purpose in our own lives! We dont have time for this. Lets get better at stratego and stop getting better at being admins and policing one another. Forgive, move on. Lets Build. Dont give attention to worthless behavior.

Lets get better at stratego and move forward from this and be leaders in our community for positivity. This is what NASF needs to represent! This is how we move forward.

Love, Leaf.

This situation --- needs to get put in rear view mirror. It would be good if NASF and the people involved could squash this this issue and move on . As the above player-L3AF put it move forward. Learn through the past/history it is the wise-man's path .

Hello L3AF,

First of all, I would like to thank you for your input, and I agree with your post. We should move beyond this mess and forget about the whole thing. Fks has strongly disliked me ever since I administered the Warning Point to him in accordance with the MT decision. I still wanted to be friends and I still would not mind putting all of this in the review mirror and being friends with Fks. I have told him this but he refused because he claims that I, personally, have "ruined his stratego experience" (this is an exact quote). I failure to see how an insignificant WP has ruined or in any way damaged his stratego experience.

Anyway all of that to say- I want to put this behind and be friends with Fks again but he was declined my offers to do so. And his further insults show that he is not ready to put this behind him. I'm still willing, but we will see.

Congratulations to Texaspete09our NASF Champion!! Well done Pete :)
