I have noticed in my recent games that scouts seem to move faster. A scout seemingly moves quicker between two squares than any other piece.

Am I seeing things or has anyone else noticed this?

do you mean that the player controlling the scout is deliberately moving the scout faster or that the scout simply moves faster because of the computer?

The scout simply moves faster because of how the game is programmed.

This might be true! I heard most of the scouts did get a workship sprinting from usain bold, this probably explains it.

This is because they need to be quick at scouting the battlefield :)

If I get astros correctly, this is a terrible new bug. You would instantly know which piece is a scout once it moves so all bluff is off the table. That takes away more than a quarter of all movable pieces to use as a bluff piece :(

The scout moves at the same speed as the other units when moving 1 tile.

When a scout moves more than 1 tile, he uses the same speed for this, to reduce waiting time.

If you see an enemy unit move more than 1 tile, you obviously know it's a scout.

Ergo, this is not a terrible bug ;)

That would be terrible. I love bluffs.

Me too, Fairway. But

I have noticed this too, I think.

What was your experience? Can it be a little glitch? Just enough to catch a piece as a scout?

Best test it out from now on Fairway, any time you think you see this glitch, test the piece out to see if it was an actual scout and to see if it's all in your head or not. I'll do the same.

Again, it's not bluffing when an enemy unit moves more than 1 tile. There is only 1 unit that can do that! ;)

I think I saw about 3 faster-moving pieces, just by, like, a millisecond. 2 of them were scouts, not the 3rd one though. They just seemed to move a bit faster that the rest of the pieces on the board. But I thought it would be very hard to tell the difference when you are playing. Most people don't pay attention to a difference as slight as that.

Ok... but the thing is, a scout moves just as fast as a sergeant from 1 tile to another. The speed is 100% the same.

If there is lag or a unit moves faster, this is due to the internet and is not related to any unit.

And as always, if a unit moves more than 1 tile, it's always a scout.

Yes well this really sounds like the boardgame all over again. Remember, if your blue general just was short of 1 end of the castle? You would always be able to recognize it. Even the slightest difference on a piece could reveal the truth. I would hate to see if that is the case here but hope Mick is right and it's just lagging.

I am right :)
The values, in the backend, are the same for all units!

Mick, do the scouts move faster when moving multiple squares? If so could they also be moving faster when moving between two squares as the result of a bug.

It could be lag, but I often notice the scouts seem to move faster. Though this could be a sign I am playing too much Stratego.

The MT has decided to fine every scout running above the average speed. Every catched scout above the speed limit will cost you 100 battlecoins. These battlecoins can be directly deposited on the MT's bank account within 2 days after receiving the fine. Delay of the deposit will cost you another 30 battlecoins per day.

Have a nice week and remember keep your hands on the keyboard, keep your eyes on the screen and keep your feet off that gas pedal!!  :)
