A problem with it is that , upon seeing the colonel , the opponent may just exchange Colonels and then send in low pieces to discover the Marshal/Spy that he will expect will be near.

How big of a problem that is depends on how prepared Napoleon is for that eventuality - and guessing by his ranking, I would assume thoroughly prepared...

Regarding Napoleon V Sevenseas , without looking at it again, I thought Sevenseas could have had a miner in each lane..

1 on the right keeping the Colonel pinned there
1 on the left blocking Napoleon's miner
1 in the centre with only the Spy to oppose if Marshal had killed Lieutenant.

Maybe I overlooked something though. I think often it is possible to underestimate your position in the endgame .One time I felt likely to lose a match and was about to hopefully offer a tie when my opponent suddenly surrendered.

This one is dedicated to Maxroelofs ... after having seen his video against Sohal ... question is when do you surrender, when you are down 1 major piece, down 2 major pieces, down 3 major pieces, down 4 major pieces, down 5 major pieces ...?

i guess this one is also good for training purpose

I would be sick to lose a game like that .He was very sporting at the end.

He made a brilliant move with the spy.

This is what we call "lotto play"

What is your fastest win against lotto players? ... mine is 1:12 minute ... sorry but this game was so fast that I didn't have even time to ask permission to my opponent to put video on youtube .... at first request from him to do so I will remove it ...

Well I had one recently that was 34 seconds.. marshal straight on the left, lottoed a captain, spy captured marshal and he surrendered. :D not sure if that's my quickest or if I had one that was quicker.

I recently had a game against a lottoing bronze captain, (I forget name) who was about 900-1050. Marshal, after capturing captain, lost to spy, gen to bomb, and both colonels to gen and marsh. The game was 54 sec.

900-1050 must be a typo

Hi all,

here under a few new videos. I waited the end of wco to post them all because I used very similar setups for those games. Now I selected those that have some real instructive content. hope you will enjoy.

First video is of my game against Ace72 in winter tournament. A very Strong, mighty, powerful, virile game. It is not for nothing that Ace72 is the UK and ex-world champion. You need real strong backyard defense to fight against him. https://youtu.be/nllSt0CS3uo

Second video is a ranked game against Burly Ben. You can recognize a very typical tough Sadistic style of play in there and the title of this game could be "How to break a boring phase of the game by identifiying 2 bombs with one single scout?" After that there was a wonderful finish with a subtle miner's passing on the left. Very instructive end game and very clever bomb setup from Burly Ben. https://youtu.be/UirWLfEtvME.

Third video was my wco game against Maxroelofs. I prepared myself too much by watching his videos and got confused. In all his videos he was backing a captain attack with a colonel but against me he backed the captain with his gen. If I would have been less prepared I would not have made that fatal mistake with my col on the left. Congrat Max for that great game. https://youtu.be/N3aX9KtJs_M

Fourth video was my wco game against Rogah. After he took advantage of a col I had to invent some crazy bluffs to come back in the game. That paid off. Thank you Rogah for that great game. https://youtu.be/BYkObaamPW4

Fifth video was my KING title gain against Maxroelofs. The good thing with this KING title is that there is no point and no ranking, so you can play without stress. This game against Max is a very funny one, ...it is the proof that lotto never pays off ... lol ;)

Burly Ben with his classic trashtalk.

What was wrong with Max in that EDIT: last kind game? Did you get enough sleep the night before? :-D

Wow! Huge thanks for sharing so many games, I guess I need to post some more games soon too... haha. :D

So far I watched the Burly Ben game and the game with ACE72.

Ace72 has got some good endgame skills. At the 28:00 mark I actually thought you would lose.. as you would have lost if the captain in the corner was a miner. I'm not sure why Ace lottoed that last major though, I think he could have had a good position especially since he had a lot more small pieces at that point. But who am I to judge much better players? :)

Burly Ben/Sadistic is the trash talk king, but he is a very solid defensive player. The combination at the end was great! It's a common trick at a higher level to sacrifice a piece so that the defending bigger piece is now vulnerable to the 2 squares rule.

I will watch the other games tonight and sunday!

This is not to take anything away from Napoleon's brilliant maneuvering, but it seems Burly Ben made some clear blunders near the end of that game.  First, why not take the general and give up the marshal at 31:17?  This would give BB the two highest pieces:  It would be 7, 6, 4, 3, 3, 3 vs. 5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, S, and the revealed spy would have very little value.  Certainly not a sure win, but BB could lock down two lanes and mount a flag hunting expedition, or he could try to hold off Napoleon long enough to trap two pieces with the 7 and 6 and gain a decisive advantage.    Also, when Napoleon got his spy into position (at 32:00), BB had a piece two spaces closer to the spy then the one he used to take it out.  If he uses the other piece (a captain I think) there's no way the miner gets to the back row.  It would be 10, 7, 4, 3, 3, 3 vs. 9, 5, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3 which probably would have saved a draw for Burly Ben.  Of course, it's much easier to see things in hindsight that in the heat of battle.
