Yes, but it is more dangerous behind the lake because it is in the front row.

Just to be safe, I would do a classic bomb case. I have another strategy I could show you that has, even though I lost the game because of my lack of pieces, fooled gold and platinum players. They eventually killed all my pieces, but never found out where my flag was.

but wouldent the flag be open after 1 bomb being taken out no matter where you put the flag?

Yes unless you use this corner setup http://www.ultrastra...gfx/setup20.jpg
However, it is not wise to trap more than one piece.

It's not wise to trap ANY piece. You'll need them at the endgame.

An open flag means bad defending. If you're defending every bomb, you're defending your flag. You could lose a game if there are still miners looking for your flag. Defend your flag, find the miners and the high ranks.

I also have another strategy that works sometimes. Make a 3 row wide bomb case in the corner, and put a sergeant in the corner and the flag right next to it. Miners will go for the corner, hit the sergeant, and think its a fake. Then they'll leave it alone.

Yo, what's the use of that? For me it's a useless fact

cuz' if they can kill all your pieces, they don't mind your stupid flag!

I think that tactic only provides you losin' stats but to ruin vets?

I'm afraid you need something far more tricky to bruise their deck.

But remember, you also can't noobattack

so instead of actually killin' it with a big gun, take a lieut instead, fool his cap

and try to get some info while not being afraid to lose this brat!

Always grab with one rank higher so don't move your best

untill the groove is set and you can gain advantage with your cruisin' staff!

It's not bad to be a col behind, you won't lose the match

if you're up a major, cap, a lieut perhaps

plus you know his boss so you can smoothly catch

your opponent with some ruthless traps, don't leave a clue and back...

every piece he threatens while knowin' the outcome and this dude is next....

to die on the field and in no time you'll be huge in rank!  ;)

it has to do with setup, so putting it here:

how well would putting a flag behind a lake work? How many bombs do you think would be needed?

im back to answer my own question, I tested this, and blown games I could have easily won twice due to my opponents only needed a miner and marshall to head right to my flag. I don't advise doing this.

I like your rhyme.  However, the not knowing where my flag is has won me games when my opponent had a huge advantage. One time, I was down a colonel and a major but was up a captain. Once they found out about my fake bomb case, they attacked what they thought might be the flag with the colonel and major, but instead they were bombs. Because of this, my captain ruled the board, and I won the game.

True. Don´t  give up a game where the oponent has a general or 2 majors advantage. How often see I a stupid move changing the game of not knowing were the bombs are or even the flag. Let´s say an impatient oponent.

I've also a nice setup

A bomb case in the middle with a 5 in it

At the right side 10, 8, 8 and spy

At the left side, 3rd row 9 + some scouts and a 7

Flag right to the bomb case

Bombs:

   B 5 B

   7 B 5

F 3 3 B 4 B 4

I do SOMETHING like that sometimes against higher ranking opponents. Usually is pretty effective.
