I wonder what is SciFI game match. Is it available here? Earlier I thought that SciFi is the same as Quick Arena match. But my opinion seems to be wrong since the achievement "Tactician SciFi" is given when you win the SciFi with 15 of your pieces still on the board, and in Quick Arena (which I never yet played) you have only 10 pieces.

Also I'm interested what are the spotters. They're involved in "Five by five" achievement. Thanks beforehand for any good answers)

The spotter is a new unit, made for the sci-fi Stratego game.

This unit is designed to be able to reveal 1 enemy unit.

The player can either

- use the spotter to move

- use the spotter to reveal an enemy unit

The spotter is a piece that can eliminate the piece that is directly in front of it if it can correctly guess its rank. It is also capable of "spotting" and capturing bombs and the flag.  A spotters cannot spot a piece to its sides or to its rear, but only in the space directly in front of it.  There are 2 Spotters per side and its rank is higher than only the spy.

I always wondered why there are awards in the profile section for the SciFi game but it is not available for play.

I think it might have been playable in the past, but is no longer.

By the way, Alex-89 I have a Stratego Sci-Fi board game at home. You have 30 pieces per side instead of 40. You get one of everything from Marshall to Major. You still have six bombs though. It's really fun to play.

I agree it is a lot of fun. The strategy is very different because just because you find marsh gen and take spy you still have to watch out for spotters. I feel as though they were designed to even the playing field from overpowering skilled players but I am no expert. It does cause I player who may be very good at the original game to be a more exciting game with someone that may not be as good. Very different dynamic.

Makes me wonder if this person even plays stratego and understands what this piece actually does. Does not seem he explained what this piece does at all.

The Prof explained it perfectly

I thought this myself but didn't want to say it.  For someone that thinks they understand the game well and "played it as a child"  he really does not even understand the basics of the game.  Not knowing what a piece can do is pretty major.
