I am willing and able to play on June 7, 14, 21, and 28 at 15:00 if someone needs a team member.

You don't say if this contributes to your overall rankings, etc.  If it will play a large role in the year end tournament for those at the top I would not be offended to be left out.  ( but I will remember the next elimination tournament! ).

Thanks for registering Scott. Hopefully some players will contact you about teaming up together.

This tournament is an extra tournament (just for fun and a nice experience), no TRP's can be won (does not count for Year End Divisions invitations)

Rounds 1 and 2 are scheduled for a Sunday at 15.00 GMT, other rounds can be held at  a time that all participants in a match agree on, as long as both matches inside a 2 vs 2 will be held at the same time.

Hi,

I have few questions that I think can just help not hinder, and I'll give possible solution for almost all my questions.

1. What if?:

    Rounds 1 & 2, 4 teams, similar for 8 teams.

    A:B=4:4, win for captain A

    C:D=4:4, win for captain D

    And you can guess:

    A:C=4:4, win for captain C

    B:D=4:4, win for captain B

I know its 1% chance but you must take in consideration all possibilities.

Maybe you can count rest troops like goals in football.

2. What if?:

    Rounds 3 & 4, 4 teams and rounds 3, 4, 5, 8 teams.

    It’s 2:2 after second match?

    Again 1% chance, maybe 1.5%.

Maybe to have same rules as round 1 & 2, if 1st match ends 2:2, captains decide, or maybe after 2nd match ends 2:2, captains decide.

3. Who decides and when how teams will split?

Because the captain will wont to choose better player in his team which of course doesn't need to be the true, it’s just captain's opinion.

Maybe captain can do that before start of a tournament or a better solution by rolling a dice or maybe by players rating, captain, 4th, 2nd future captain in splitted team, 3rd player.

4. Who decides who will be the captain or second splitted team, A2, B2, C2, D2, ...?

Because the captain could choose worst player, again just by his opinion, so he can play with them if its 2:2 in their possible future match, if you choose some of my solutions for question number 2.

Again, maybe the captain can do that before start or maybe a better solution by rolling a dice or player’s rating.

5. What if you have 5 to 7 or more than 8 teams applied?

Maybe to have a qualification, rolling a dice or choosing by player's rating.

6. What if there are some applicants left without teams?

Maybe, to make teams of 4 applicants, then it rises a new question, what if after that stays 1 to 3 players?

Maybe to choose 2 to 4 players by rolling a dice or better by rating and then to have prequalification for the last place in the last team.

7. Where to find information about Divisions tournament and how to apply?

No solution, that’s why I ask this question.

8. Please can you introduce spelling in post or reply field like many other forums did, of course if it isn’t somehow available or if it isn’t difficult or expensive.

    Just asking.

Thank you for making Stratego online and free, especially for us who live in poor and colonized countries.

Thank you jugoslav for your questions.

To start with Point 8, that is a question you should ask the Administrators of this site: the red ones on this list

Point 7. You can find everything about the Divisions here. In short there will be an open tournament in September and if you join that and finish it you will be invited to the next Divisions tournament in November/December. If you have more questions about the Divisons please ask them here

OK on to your 6 very well thought out and relevant questions!

1. In case of ties after round 2 there will be deciding matches by the captains. So in the (indeed) very unlikely case of all (8) teams ending with the same amount of points there will be 4 deciding matches with the 4 winners taking their teams to Round 3.

2. If a duo's match ends in a 2-2 score the teams meet again but change opponents. If there still is no decision TC will randomly draft  who will play a deciding game: either a match between the teamcaptains or a match between the other two

3. TC will randomly draft who the duo’s will be and which players will play eachother

4. The captain of the second team is the highest one in there so A2, if A2 teams with A3 or A4. A3 can only be Captain if he ends up in a duo with A4.

5. We aim at 8 teams maximum, but will leave registration open even after 8 teams are in, to have some expansions (if possible). If we have more than 4 but less than 8 we will do our best to get everyone involved.

6. Same here, we will do our best to get everyone involved

Hope you will join; it will be a lot of fun.

Thank you The Maestro,

Again I have a question regarding your answer 1.

How will you determin who plays agains whom?

Please can you pass questions 7 and 8 to moderators, I think It's easier for you to do that and maybe those questions are helpfull making stratego.com better.

I guess I'm borring, sorry.

Hey, just a suggestion here. There are a lot of "pinned" threads.

Perhaps, there could only be

Bomb of spies

Divisions Tournament sign up (which gets unpinned when sign up is closed)

D1 posting

D2 posting

D3 posting

D4 posting

TRP list

Divisions Tournament Results

Team Tournament sign up and rules (unpinned after signup is closed)

Team Tournament arrangements

Team Tournament results

That's 9 pinned threads vs the current 17 (if the sign up threads were unpinned)

Main announcement and/or rules threads could be posted in the Bomb

Questions perhaps posted in the Bomb or private message to TC member

Question: In case of tie after round 2 a tiebreaker captains game has to be played ... but when has this game to be played? I suppose both captains have to agree on a suitable date and time for it right?

If you don't know where you go ... you have a lot of chance to arrive elsewhere ...

Hi I'm wondering where I can participate in tournaments any kind (round robin, team, swiss format, etc.) and where to acquire this information. I don't know this site too well so forgive me if I'm looking in the wrong place.

Thx,

J

Hello, the next tournament you can join should be coming up in August. When this happens there will be a pinned signup thread in this topic area like this one: http://forum.strateg...nt-and-sign-up/.

Hope you can join! :)

should this occur, that game should happen immediately afterward, or at least as soon as possible as the next draft occurs quickly enough

How will the TRP distribution be for this tournament? Wondering how many I am able to receive, or already have.

Edit: just noticed that no TRPs will be awarded. A sad thing, since it is a tournament. TC states this is just a nice tournament for fun, but isn't every tournament one?
