Hey there!  :D

I'm DetectiveDroopy, I started playing stratego maybe a week ago

I was wondering whether someone can explain me some things about the set-up or some strategies that are seen as common around here and that beginners don't know. I've been playing chess since I was six, so I managed to get to Bronze Captain quite easily (23 games), but I feel like the competition is getting tougher and would like to improve and eventually compete at the top hopefully :)

Any kind of information is highly useful, thanks in advance!

Go watch some youtube videos of stratego games. Maxroelfs has some good ones. I used his setups at the start. Use those and you can make your own when you figure out how you like to play

Hi Detective!

1. Chess is a game of logic and moves calculation, you have all the information on pieces, while some moves might be "hidden". Stratego is a game of information, disinformation and misinformation.

2. Your setup must fit your style of play. Someone else winning formation may not make sense to you at all.

3. When you respect your opponent, you respect yourself.

Hv fun! :D
