I often get disconnected in the middle of a game. When getting back in the stratego app, game is recorded as a defeat and need to play a new match. I guess this is a bug? One should be able to access ongoing game during buffertime when one loses access.... Can you pls fix this? It is really annoying as it influences ranks and stats.... Thx in advance.

This is being fixed soon.  The Devs are adding the Disconnect / Reconnect feature.

No! No different. Only different in your mind. You must unlearn what you have learned

Not yet Vowles.

We are still testing this feature, as to accomplish this we had to restructure a lot of code.

That's why this is taking quite some time...though, if all goes well, it shouldn't take too long before we release this.

(again this is also for the iPad app which has a different and tedious release process which is currently slowing down the process)

I played Punish today, nice game. It was going well for me, but then I suddenly lost my internet connection. I was able to reconnect within about 1 minute, but my game already ended in defeat. Luckily however this time no points were deducted. So seems the new feature is working.

Just wanted to share something positive on this forum. I know the challenges the developers face are quite big.

So the game was over when you returned Tubby and you loss no points for disconnecting?  That there worries me.  I can see this abuse already; so and so is losing the game and decides they don't want to lose the game.  "I'll just shutdown the game and I'll get no drop in rating!"  I know in your case Tubby you lost connection to your game, but I think we need to fix it that if you get disconnected, the game should resume when you return.  If you don't come back in X number of time, then the game should go to the other player as a victory.

The reconnection feature is not yet live, this is why the game ended in a defeat even though you managed to return in a reasonable time.

About not losing points...i think you did, though this is not always properly visible until you play your next game.

I think you encountered this problem as you posted this topic:

http://forum.strateg...lost-10-points/

So @Mignightguy don't worry, people will not be able to quit their game to avoid losing points.

yep, that's what happened, all makes sense now.

If you loose your connection for longer than the time you get to reconnect to the game, you should loose points, otherwise this feature will indeed be abused.

UP 4 FIX !

Today I lost two games (winning) due to lost connection (my connection works fine)! Only 10 seconds of time, no way to reconnect and the game is lost, wtf?

This has happened to me several times.

I have the same problem. It's really annoying! <_<

Lost about 100 points caused by this and try these days to get those points back.

just had a game that never started. The set up timer ran out and the game didn't start. I thought I would loose points again, but this time a message appeared saying something like my opponent couldn't initialize the game, please try again. Then I was returned back to the main screen, no points deducted.

Thumbs up to the developers for this one.

Has there been any improvement on the lost connection issue yet?

No I'm still getting red screens and losing points and last night was facing someone and red screen came up but after a min or two my game finally loaded but he never moved.  I got the win and points for a win.  I did the right thing by offering a pause and draw but he never responded so there was nothing for me to do other than take the points for the win.

So losing on connection still hasn't been fixed? It's taking a long time... and I really want to play Stratego again!

Many things haven't fixed unfortunately. It happens me too often that i start the game but it just freezed. Together with the connection thing is counts for many of my losses. Reported it and they know about it but it's very frustrating. Unfortunately things still not fixed.

Nothing's good or bad, but thinking makes it so.

I'm new to stratego online - 3 weeks - but today alone I lost three games to disconnects. One I hadn't even begun to play. When will this be fixed and can one have theses defeats removed from one's ranking? This is terribly frustrating

Still a problem. Today - a random disconnect in a winning position. Just went from my move to all of a sudden the homepage with a loss recorded in my profile.

WTF...
