Was hoping for something like this

This looks good. 20 point separations in the lowest league. Then 30,40, and 50 in the highest. 1500 platinum Marshal still a challenging goal for the highest, it seems to me.

If the developers really want to keep this they could add an extra tier. But it's better to adjust.

I wonder if they even read suggestions from players. Are these even the same developers as the ones who set up the first values?

We have already asked admins to revise their "re-scaling" of the ranking in order to leave some challenges for top players and are waiting for their answer.

If you don't know where you go ... you have a lot of chance to arrive elsewhere ...

For some, Enjoying the challenge of playing for something can be fun in its own right. In fact, it may even be a pre-requisite of becoming the best.

This idea of having silver scouts, gold Captains and Platinum Generals does not really make since to me.  Once you become a General or Marshal you don't get promoted again by becoming a scout once again.  In the US army, I couldn't imagine any way that a General would get promoted by becoming a private again.  That is basically what we are doing with our system.

The numbers I offer for ratings to get to a new title is just an idea I threw out there.  Also perhaps just me but confusing to me when I see a bronze and gold player on there, colors somewhat alike (or could be mid-age eyes start to go!)

How about this chart for rankings....

Spy   100- 199

Scout 200-299

Miner 300-399

Sergeant 400-549

Lieutenant 550-749

Captain 750-899

Major 900-1099

Colonel 1100-1299

General 1300-1499

Marshal 1500+

I had also come up with a more basic chart:

Spy   100- 199

Scout 200-299

Miner 300-399

Sergeant 400-499

Lieutenant 500-599

Captain 600-699

Major 700-799

Colonel 800-899

General 900-999

Marshal 1000+

The first chart would only have Satan-NL at a Colonel but he still has something to play for, but the other chart he and a few of our top players would indeed be a Marshal.

Although I agree in spirit with the simplicity of having no colors in the rankings, as no army has that in real life, adding colors has advantages. In Nortrom's plan above there are forty levels versus ten for Rob's plan. This allows for more rank diversity at all levels and a way to distinguish much smaller steps for the players. Yes, it's silly to get to a bronze Marshal and then begin again as a Spy, but there's a certain familiarity to doing this that is comfortable to most people, I think, so that the advantage of the smaller steps between the ranks outweighs the one advantage of the more realistic approach Rob advocates. But this is total poll material. I'm going to go with favoring the above arrangement of Nortrom, as I think players at all levels still want the incremental challenges that it provides.

in a year a lot of players will have 1000+ points and in 2 years 1200+

maybe in 5 years there would be some gold ranked players, the rankings where just fine.
