Here's another Marshal blow up then a disconnect by Statego Keizer. Midnightguy, we need to get your punitive idea put in place! Whether we to meet with the numbers or not, it is a solid idea to help stop this.

Here's one from Turkum.  He blew his general up on a bomb, then shortly a colonel.  Then he disconnected.  Why not just press the surrender flag?

We need to install Midnightguy's Disconnectors Penalty Rule!  If these fellows lost 50 points every time they did this, they'd think twice.  Of course, there should be a way to erase the negatives if a fellow plays so many games good in a row, but this all needs to be on a different thread.  Let's hone down that rule and get it right up to the front of the line to be programmed onto the site.  No, this is not the worst problem we have, but it's definitely a big problem and needs to be fixed.  I run into it all the time, as I'm sure others do as well.  If we need to have a rule to enforce good manners then let's get the rule done.

One thing is that there shouldn't be any doubt as to the nature of the disconnect if I show you that "Turkum's Colonel failed to capture GaryLShelton's Bomb."  Even if this were a valid disconnect, it would not be very common to happen after an event like that and if the player were truly honest, he'd have no problem playing good from that point and erasing the fluke.  But far and away, if a major event happens in the game and a disconnect immediately follows, then the guy who leaves just pulled a jerk move.  So let's don't let any questions of the nature of these disconnects slow us down in our attempt to hone our rule down to a fair but strict tool that no one will want to break.

I've said this before, but if these disconnectors all want to keep on disconnecting, they'll end up at 100 level Bronze Spys and they can all be together annoying themselves and the unfortunate newbies they'll be playing.

DejanNSAD, you might want to edit your piece setup info on any images you post first.

MG, the the images are not very clear when I opened them. And they cutoff the name of your opponent at the top of the screen, though you can see who it is in the chat window, I suppose.

I'm not sure the easiest way to do it (i'm a luddite) but to cover up your setup in the screenshot with a paint program or something...so as not to reveal your bomb structure etc...(PS: while a fake flag can be super effective, I might recommend not housing a captain there...in the field you are already "down" a major piece until a fateful miner comes to free it! a sarge might do better for you, but this is just one noob's opinion)

Yes, DejanNSAD, sirgeicoad has it right.  Use the paint program to block out your own piece info.  Next time someone plays you they are going to see that Captain behind a triangle bomb and bring a Colonel or General along to wipe him out if it's not actually your flag.  A Sarge would be far better to my way of thinking too.  But, the higher ups (read: Enigma) will tell you to never put any piece behind bombs.  And that is undoubtedly stellar advice, although there are certainly different strategies for different levels.  It won't be quite the same for you as a Silver, naturally, as the various ranks have various tendencies.  The "Rank Stereotypes" post under Game Discussion is a good place to start for more on this.

Now I see what you meant. I'll do it next time. But for anyway for everyone who will play against me: I don't always use the exact same setup :) And for sirgeicoad, it's a good adveice for the captain but if my play only depends on that one captain, then I know i'm done so in that case I already pressed the surrender flag :)

Always bomb in a captain, that is a sure way to victory.

This steaming pile, who goes by the name Brett Korpi, disconnected when his major lotto didn't work. It was too much trouble to hit the surrender button.
